The Berlin International Fruit and Vegetable Fair FRUIT LOGISTICA will take place from 5th to 7th February 2020. European Union is the largest producer and consumer of apples in the world. Average apple collection in EU is 10 million tons a year. It consists of nearly 25 apple varieties. The most popular ones are Golden Delicious, Gala and Jonagold.

Polish production is 25% of whole EU production. On the second place there is Italy -21%, then France – 15%, Germany – 9% and Spain – 6%. Those countries’ production is 75% of the whole EU production. The most popular apple variety in Poland is Idared. Golden Delicious is a variety of the biggest production in  Italy, France, Spain and Portugal. Jonagold dominates in Germany and Belgium.
